Glorious Concert At Royal Albert Hall

Saturday 2nd November 2013 saw the member choirs of the Cornish Federation of Male Voice Choirs join together to sing at the Royal Albert Hall, in recognition of the 30th anniversary of the forming of the Federation. The Concert in aid of the RNLI, Cornwall Hospice Care and the Radio Cornwall Charity Appeal, was a sellout and had been in the planning for over a year and a half.

The massed choir featured over 600 voices and included members of our own Holman-Climax Male Voice Choir. The massed choir was superbly supported by Cornwall Cambiata , Cornwall Youth Orchestra conducted by Tim Boulton and Jonathan Delbridge on the Willis organ.

Cornwall Cambiata which was led by our own Musical Director Angela Renshaw, were joined by the wonderful Cornish folk group Dalla for some of their items and were magnificently accompanied by Angus Webster, our hugely talented joint accompanist, who at 14 became the youngest ever person to be allowed to play the magnificent Willis organ.

Cornwall Cambiata and the Cornwall Youth Orchestra performed brilliantly, giving the evening a wonderful contrast,  demonstrating the huge depth of up and coming musical talent in Cornwall.

At the end of the night everyone came to together in a glorious, rousing rendition of Trelawny which not only raised the roof but which some say could even be heard in Cornwall and our other Celtic Nations.
