On Friday 27th July 2018 Holman-Climax Male Voice Choir held its Annual General Meeting at  Camborne Science and International Academy. At the meeting reports were received from the Secretary, Treasurer, Chairman and Musical Director which reviewed the successes of the past twelve months, reflected on the various activities which the choir has been involved in and then looked to the future to maintain the standard and good name of the choir.

The following are a selection of some of the activities of the Choir during the year:

  • Recorded a new CD entitled “Sing Your Way Home” which has proved to be very popular.
  • Sung with Stithians Ladies Choir as part of their 50th year celebrations
  • Won at the Cornwall Music Festival – Male Voice Choirs (over 30 singers)
  • Had a new choir photograph taken
  • Presented a number of successful Community Evenings
  • Sung at the Newlyn Fish Festival

After the formalities and the election of officers for the new Choir year, a number of presentations were made:

  • Garfield-Martin Attendance Cup – Ivan Barnes
  • Certificate for long service to Holman-Climax Male Voice Choir:
    • 20 Years Service  – Danny Johns
    • 40 Years Service  – Philip Walters
    • 50 Years Service  – Ivor Glasson
  • Certificate in recognition for holding the office of President of Holman-Climax Choir for the year 2017-18 – Brian Carter
