AGNES JANE - ACCOMPANIST

Well known over a wide area as an accompanist and solo artist Agnes first started her public appearances by playing the organ at the Chili Road Chapel, Illogan Highway, near Redruth, at 12 years of age, a position she held for 11 years. She was also the organist at Paynters Lane End Chapel for 9 years.
Her long and varied association with music has seen her appointed as an official accompanist to the Camborne and County Music Festivals and the Redruth and Newquay Amateur Operatic Societies.

She is indeed proud to have accompanied a number of professional artistes during their visits to the County.
Agnes was presented with the Cornish Gorsedd Shield for Services to Music in 1990 and was made a Bard of the Cornish Gorsedd in 1992.
Her association with the Choir began with her appointment as accompanist in 1971.
She is, without doubt, one of the finest accompanists that Cornwall has ever produced and the Holman-Climax Male Voice Choir has been so very fortunate to have had her expertise over so many years.

In 1995 she was appointed Deputy Accompanist to the Chacewater/Carnon Vale (now City of Truro) Male Voice Choir leaving in 2006 to take up an appointment as Accompanist to St Columba Celtic Male Choir.

We are grateful that Margaret has found the time to be our Deputy Accompanist.
