Members

Is the Choir Uniform provided?

Yes – the Choir provides blazer, trousers, tie, informal black shirt and fleece although a contribution is required. Members are expected to provide their own white shirt and shoes etc.

When does the Choir rehearse?

The Choir rehearses in Camborne on Friday from 7:30pm – 9:30pm at Camborne Science and International Academy. Occasionally leading up to festivals or concerts we may hold additional rehearsals.

Are Members expected to attend every concert?

No – we understand that family and other commitment come first however there is an expectation that members will attend the vast majority of concerts throughout the year and the rehearsals leading up to concerts.

Yes, traditionally the Choir learns every piece and sings them for memory. For new members music is allowed in Concert when they are still learning the pieces and the Choir sometimes uses music for pieces which they have not quite committed to memory or sing infrequently.

Rehearsals

Is there a Car Park available for attending rehearsals?

Yes – there is ample car parking at Camborne Science and International Academy. Occasionally when the school is not available or we have extra rehearsals leading up to festivals or concerts we may use another venue where parking may be an issue.

Can anyone come all to a rehearsal?

Yes – we extend a warm welcome to anyone who wishes to come and sit in on one of our rehearsals. Often visitors have a historical connection with the choir and their visit is planned however if you  wish to come along, are interested in joining or are simply intrigued to see how we learn music or if you just want to hear the Choir sing please feel free to just turn up. All we ask is that you and make yourself known to one of our members so we can ensure you are made most welcome.

How long do rehearsals last?

2 hours – we rehearse on Friday between 7:30pm and 9:30pm at Camborne Science and International Academy although we sometimes have additional rehearsals leading up to festivals or concerts and these are arranged so that as many members as possible can attend.
